「您好，我是心光學校校友會的幹事。我專誠致電給你，請問你有沒有興趣參加我們師友計劃的長洲旅行呢？」
「好啊，我參加呀！」
就這樣，我們校友會師友計劃的學長、學弟、學妹和來自香港青年協會的社工及港青專業進修書院的義工一行廿八人於2012 年5 月13日，在晴朗的星期天，乘坐新世界渡輪到長洲去。
一到達長洲，義工便帶著我們四處尋找有乒乓球那麼巨大的魚蛋、美味軟塾的紅豆餅和芒果糯米糍等道地小食，我們又搜購充滿長洲特色的平安包造型紀念品。下午，義工還帶我們遊覽北帝廟，他們熱誠地向我們詳細介紹這一座古廟的設計和擺設，還引領我們摸一摸古廟門前的皮幽。天氣雖然酷熱，但心光的學弟和學妹都感到十分暢快。
學弟和學妹們除了游玩外，亦不時主動與我們學長們交談；例如問問我們有關申請入讀大學的程序、脫離心光學校服務的大學生活、尋找工作的情況以及工作時的喜與樂等等，我們學長們都逐一仔細回答，而學弟妹們亦專心聆聽。
心光學校校友會師友計劃的目的是建造一個平台，透過離校已久的校友（學長）和仍享用心光學校服務的外讀生（學弟妹）的交流，讓後者能在學業上、社交上、甚至在訂立未來計劃上都有所得益。
所以，長洲一遊，不但給予學長和學弟妹們輕鬆的一天，相信還對學弟妹們是一次寶貴的經驗和交流。
Cheung Chau Tour
"Hello, I am from the Ebenezer School Alumni Association (ESAA). Will you join our Cheung Chau tour?"
"Certainly!"
Mentors and mentees under the ESAA Mentorship Programme as well as social worker from Hong Kong Federation of Youth Group and volunteers from the YMCA College of Continuing Education, altogether 28 participants, got on the New World First Ferry to Cheung Chau on the sunny Sunday of 13 May 2012.
Upon arrival, with the escort of the volunteers, we walked around to look for snacks including fish balls (as big as a table tennis ball), delicious red bean cakes and glutinous rice dumplings with mango, etc. We also walked around to collect souvenirs which were full of the characteristics of Cheung Chau, such as those designed in the form of the Bread of Peace. Besides, we strolled to Cheung Chau Pak Tai Temple for sightseeing too. The volunteers enthusiastically described to us the internal and external design of the Temple. They also guided us to have a touch on the Statue of Piyou (A mythical animal)) for getting rich. The mentees enjoyed the activity very much despite the hot weather.
Besides, mentees also chatted with their mentors. They asked us some questions about the procedures of applying for admission to university, the university life without the resources from Ebenezer School, job-seeking, and the happy and unhappy working experience, etc. Our mentors answered their queries patiently and in detail.
The aim of the Mentorship Programme of ESAA is to provide opportunities for alumni of the Ebenezer School (mentors) and the students receiving integrated education supported by the Ebenezer School (mentees) to interact with each other. Through regular interaction, we hope that the mentees can benefit in their studies, social skills and even in setting their goals.
Therefore, the Cheung Chau tour was not only a recreational activity, but also an invaluable gathering between the mentors and the mentees.
